Delete your account

Two paths: self-serve by signing in, or email us if you can’t reach your account.

Option 1 — self-serve (recommended)

If you can still sign in, this is the fastest route. Your account and content are removed immediately, with no email exchange needed.

  1. Sign in with your Jambo.pics email address.
  2. Open Your profile from the top-right menu (or visit jambo.pics/me).
  3. Scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom of the page.
  4. Tap Delete my account, type DELETE to confirm, and submit.

Option 2 — email us

If you’ve lost access to your registered email, or self-serve deletion isn’t working for any reason, send us a deletion request from the email address you signed up with. We’ll confirm your identity and remove the account within 30 days (usually the same working day).

Email team@jambo.pics

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted we remove:

  • Your profile — name, email, date of birth, profile picture, bio, time zone.
  • Every memory you’ve posted to every album — photos, videos, voice notes, and written entries, both the thumbnails shown in feeds and the original files.
  • Your membership of every album. Album leaders see you disappear from their members list.
  • Any favourites, reports, and blocks you’ve recorded.
  • Your pending parental-consent record, if you hadn’t yet been approved.

Content someone else posted that includes you (a photo you appear in, a caption mentioning you) is not automatically removed — the person who posted it owns the copyright. If you want a specific memory removed, use the Report button on that memory or email team@jambo.pics with a link.

What might be retained

A small amount of data may be retained after account deletion, only where the law requires it or where it has been fully anonymised:

  • Donation records — if you’ve donated, we keep the transaction reference, amount, and date for up to 7 years for UK accounting obligations. This is financial data only; it’s not tied back to an active account.
  • Security logs — IP address and request metadata may persist in server logs for up to 30 days. These are used only to investigate abuse or security incidents and are rotated automatically.
  • Backups — residual copies of deleted content in our backups are overwritten within 30 days of deletion.

For parents

If your child under 18 has a Jambo.pics account, you can request that their account is deleted at any time by emailing us at team@jambo.pics from the same email address that approved their parental consent. We’ll verify and delete within one working day.

If your child is still waiting on parental approval, no account exists yet — rejecting the consent email or ignoring it for 30 days removes the pending account automatically.

Timeline

Self-serve deletion is instant. Email-based deletion usually happens the same working day, always within 30 calendar days. You’ll receive a confirmation email once the account is gone.
