Who we are

What Jambo.pics is

Jambo.pics is a private, invite-only photo scrapbook for scout units. It lets scouts, leaders, and parents share photos, videos, voice notes, and written memories from camps and events. Access is by invitation only — there is no public sign-up.

The service is provided free of charge, sustained by optional donations. Units that exceed their free storage allowance can purchase a storage upgrade. We also reserve the right to offer photo books of an album’s content for sale to members of the unit and their families; this is not currently a live service, but uploaded content is licensed in a way that permits us to produce a photo book if it is later offered and ordered (see “Your content”). Any paid features are subject to additional purchase terms presented at checkout and are handled by our payment processor (see Third-party services).

Eligibility and accounts

You may use Jambo.pics if you have been invited by a troop leader or another member, and you agree to these terms. You must provide a valid email address to receive sign-in codes.

If you are under 13, you may only use the service under the supervision of a parent or guardian who has accepted these terms on your behalf. Troop leaders are responsible for ensuring that any child members have appropriate parental consent.

Your content

You retain full copyright in everything you upload. By uploading content, you grant Jambo.pics a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

  • store and display your content to other members of the album it was posted to;
  • transmit your content within the platform (for example, to deliver it to other members’ devices);
  • reproduce your content solely to fulfil a photo book or download order placed by you or your unit. We reserve the right to offer photo books for sale to members of the unit and their families; by uploading you permit us to include your content in a book ordered through that service, should we launch it.

We do not use your content in advertising, sell it to third parties for their own use, or share it outside your album without your instruction.

When you delete a post, the licence for that content ends, except that content already included in a photo book in production may still be reproduced to complete that order.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you post — including that the people pictured (or their parents, if they are minors) have consented to it being shared within the album.

The unit code

Before accessing an album, every member must accept the unit code — a set of conduct rules covering decency, privacy, and safeguarding. The unit code forms part of these terms by reference. Troop leaders may remove content or members that breach it.

Acceptable use

Jambo.pics has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Users who upload objectionable content or abuse other users will have their content removed and their account ejected from the platform.

You must not use Jambo.pics to:

  • upload content you do not have the right to share;
  • upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, obscene, or sexually explicit;
  • harass, bully, or threaten other users;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any group;
  • attempt to access, scrape, or interfere with the platform or its infrastructure;
  • circumvent any access controls or moderation decisions.

Reporting, blocking, and our response

Every memory in Jambo.pics has a Report button, and you can block any user whose content you no longer want to see. Blocking immediately removes that user’s posts from your view and notifies us of the block.

We commit to reviewing reports within 24 hours. Where a report is upheld, we will remove the offending content and, in line with our zero-tolerance policy, eject the user who posted it.

Moderation and removal

Troop leaders can review, hide, or remove any content within their album. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe breach these terms, the unit code, or applicable law — including without prior notice in serious cases.

If you believe content in an album breaches these terms or causes harm, use the Report button on the relevant post. If the concern involves a leader, contact us directly at team@jambo.pics.

We also run uploaded photos, videos, and captions through Microsoft Azure AI Content Safety, which scores content for hate, self-harm, sexual, and violent material. Because Jambo.pics is used by children, we apply stricter thresholds for sexual and self-harm content than for hate and violence: anything scored above our per-category safeguarding thresholds is pended for manual review before it appears in the feed. A human always makes the final call on whether to remove content or take action against an account.

Our liability

Jambo.pics is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded under English law.

Where you purchase a paid product or service (such as a storage upgrade or a printed photo book if and when one is offered), your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected by these terms.

Third-party services

Jambo.pics uses third-party infrastructure to operate. Current sub-processors include Microsoft Azure (media storage and delivery), Resend (transactional email), and Stripe (payment processing). A full list is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Jambo.pics after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
